The Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition was formed by an alliance of community, environmental and small business groups affected by ongoing pollution and cleanup plans for the Duwamish River.

Lower Duwamish River Superfund Site

Seattle, WA

Environmental Stewardship Concepts currently serves as technical advisor at this Superfund site where cleanup is being carried out both by EPA and Washington state. Contaminants at this site range from dioxins, PCBs, and arsenic, to PAHs, phthalates, and other industrial chemicals. Concerns over both direct and indirect exposure from such sources as seafood raise important concerns. Local tribal rights and issues also weigh heavily at this site.

Cleanup is now underway at the Boeing Plant 2 site within the Lower Duwamish River Superfund Site. The Boeing Company will pay for remediation efforts at the highly toxic site. The EPA’s public comment period on the Boeing Plant 2 site cleanup closed on May 28th.
